PLANNING BOARD
Regular Meeting
November 16, 2011
The meeting opened at 7:33 PM. Present were: Chairman Rick McCowan, Mark Canfield, Tom Daly, Jerry Gannelli, and John Mirick.
Discuss Potential Members of a Worcester Rd Project Advisory Committee (PAC)
Jerry contacted Sean Conway, Russell Mason, Geoffrey Yaglou, and Joseph Bellucci. All are interested in participating. Deb Cassidy, Phil Mighdoll and Ken Knowles are also interested. Tom moved to recommend the list of interested residents to the Board of Selectmen, and to request they appoint two additional citizen-at-large members. Jerry seconded and suggested it take place over the next two weeks. All in favor (5-0). Jerry would like to attend the Select Board meeting on November 21.
Review Summary of E. Princeton Village District Questionnaires
Mark transcribed responses to identify common themes.
- The personality of the neighborhood and historic nature of the homes are most liked features
- Least liked are traffic, shabbiness, deterioration and neglect of the area
- Retain the character of homes
- Spruce up area, add lighting & sidewalks
- Remodel mechanics hall
Mark noted that sprucing up the area may slow down the traffic.
Rick mentioned that guidelines can be put in place to maintain the historic look and feel of the area.
Tom said there are bylaws are in place for Home Occupation and Accessory Apartments.
Residents will be invited to a future meeting. John is willing to moderate. He recommends keeping the first meeting open ended. Mark will further condense responses to major themes. Brenda will post on website and town news. The board thanked Mark for his efforts.
Meeting Minutes
November 2, Regular Meeting – John moved to accept the minutes as amended. Jerry seconded. All in favor (5-0).
Other Business
Jerry reported that he is waiting for a response from Glenn Lyons to discuss Highway Department ability to maintain low impact development.
The board reviewed the mail.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:27 PM. All were in favor.
